Air Commandos take advantage of relief efforts to further partnerships
PADANG, Indonesia -- A combat controller assigned to the 353rd Special Operations Group, points out damaged aviation navigation aids during a meeting at Tabing Air Field Oct. 7. Indonesian and U.S. airmen met to discuss the restoration of aviation navigation aids to facilitate flight operations supporting humanitarian relief efforts in Padang. SOG Airmen support Indonesian relief efforts
PADANG, Indonesia -- Maj. John Traxler, 353rd Special Operations Group, meets with Indonesian Army Capt. Mohammad Munir, company commander, Battalion 461, Indonesian Air Force, to discuss the restoration of aviation navigation aids to facilitate flight operations in support of the ongoing humanitarian relief efforts in Padang. SOG Airmen continue supporting Indonesian relief efforts
TABING AIRFIELD, Indonesia -- A combat controller from the 353rd Special Operations Group, guides an MC-130P Combat Shadow as it lands here Oct. 4. U.S. and Indonesian military officials surveyed and opened the closed airfield to support humanitarian relief operations near Padang in western Indonesia. SOCPAC Commander and Command Sergeant Major visit 353rd SOG
KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- Senior Airman Norman Lewis (right), 320th Special Tactics Squadron, briefs Rear Adm. Sean Pybus (center), the commander of Special Operations Command, Pacific, and Command Sgt. Maj. Stephen Bush, the senior enlisted advisor for Special Operations Command, Pacific, on equipment used by members of the 320th STS to support air, ground, and maritime combat operations. This was Rear Adm. Pybus' first visit to the 353rd SOG since taking command of SOCPAC June 12. The 353rd SOG is SOCPAC's air component command responsible for command and control of all SOF air in the Pacific AOR. This visit focused on orienting Rear Adm. Pybus and Command Sgt. Maj.
